Service Team Leader completes 100 LAP installations

At OIS we are proud to have an incredibly capable and dedicated team of employees. One of those employees is Josh Imber, our Service Team Leader. This month will mark Josh’s 100th installation of LAP laser systems since starting work at OIS.

Josh began his career at OIS eight years ago in a technical and sales support role. During this time, he has been involved with new system installations, repairing and maintaining a wide range of equipment, and providing demonstrations, product training and remote support to our radiotherapy customer base. In his current role of Service Team Leader, he is responsible for carrying out and leading the team in installations and continually enhancing the quality of after sales service.

Asking Josh about his experience and realising he has installed 100 laser systems he said, “I feel lucky to have worked with such fantastic equipment, and to install 100 systems is an honour. Although every installation has been different, I have enjoyed them all - none the less.” Josh’s first installation was a DORADO 1 and his 100th was a DORADOnova 5, installed at Singleton Hospital in Swansea. Built on trusted DORADO technology, DORADOnova systems allow users to adjust the laser focus and alignment by remote control. “The developments from DORADO to DORADOnova are outstanding and it is clear to me why LAP DORADOnova received the German design award. Here's to the next 100!”

Pictured here are the team in Swansea during applications training on their LAP DORADOnova 5 laser system. The DORADOnova 5 is the most sophisticated and versatile system available, offering the greatest degree of flexibility for marking and virtual simulation.

Josh first received his certification to install, repair and maintain DORADO laser products at LAP headquarters in Lüneburg, Germany. Shortly afterwards he completed service and applications training with ScandiDos in Uppsala, Sweden, enabling him to provide installation, configuration and calibration services and applications training on the Delta4 product family. Most recently, Josh gained his electrician qualification to compliment his role and give him a deeper understanding of the electrical aspect of his work.

Josh’s friendly manner and professional approach make him popular among our customers. This recent feedback from a service visit shows us why he is such a valued member of our team. “As always, the service that we received from the time we reported the fault was exemplary.”

We could not be prouder. Thank you, Josh for your service and commitment to OIS and our customers!
