Highlights from the 2026 UK & Ireland Radformation Users Meeting

Oncology Imaging Systems (OIS) was delighted to partner with Radformation for the inaugural UK & Ireland Radformation Users Meeting, held in Manchester on 22nd July 2026.
The study day brought together clinical professionals from across the UK and Ireland to share experiences, discuss the practical application of automation in radiotherapy and explore how innovative technologies can support more efficient and consistent workflows.
As Radformation’s UK and Ireland partner, OIS was proud to help bring this community together and support a day focused on knowledge sharing, collaboration and real-world clinical experience.
Learning from clinical experience
A highlight of the meeting was hearing directly from clinical teams about how they are using Radformation solutions within their departments.
Claire Fitzpatrick from St. Luke’s Institute of Cancer Research shared the team’s experience of using AI segmentation and EZFluence to redesign its breast radiotherapy pathway. By bringing contour review, target definition and planning together within a coordinated workflow, the team has been able to reduce handovers and repetitive tasks while maintaining clinical oversight.
Rachel Dunwoody from St. Vincent’s Private Hospital discussed the use of ClearCalc and RadMonteCarlo for secondary dose verification and patient-specific QA. Following commissioning and clinical audit, the approach has helped the team reduce reliance on measurement-based QA while supporting more efficient clinical workflows.
Bethany Aylward from the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre presented the department’s transition to RadMachine for machine QA. Moving away from legacy spreadsheets, paper forms and Visual Basic tools has created a more transparent and traceable QA process, while automated image import and analysis have significantly reduced the time required for CBCT image quality analysis.
The meeting also explored the wider Radformation portfolio, including AutoContour for automated AI contouring, ClearCheck for automated plan checking and ChartCheck Adaptive for adaptive assessment.
Collaboration driving innovation
For OIS, the meeting was about more than showcasing technology. It was an opportunity for clinicians to share what they have learned, discuss the challenges of introducing new workflows and consider how automation can be applied meaningfully within different clinical environments.
