Team OIS go the distance for Miles4Radiotherapy 2025

Oncology Imaging Systems were proud to once again take part in Radiotherapy UK’s annual virtual challenge, Miles4Radiotherapy, an initiative that unites the radiotherapy community to raise essential funds in support of the charity’s patient information services. Throughout July and August, participants are encouraged to cover as many miles as possible through their choice of exercise.

Radiotherapy UK

Radiotherapy UK is the nation’s only charity solely focused on improving radiotherapy treatment. Their mission is to ensure that every patient in the UK has access to world-class radiotherapy. Through campaigning, advocacy, and patient support, they address the cancer backlog, champion service improvements, and provide vital resources for both patients and the radiotherapy workforce.

Ben takes the lead with an incredible 215.84 miles

Ben Eccles, Account Manager at OIS, topped the leaderboard with an outstanding 215.84 miles. While walking made up the majority of his distance, Ben’s total also included cycling and running, showcasing a well-rounded effort.

Josh pushes for the lead with a trip to France

Our Business Development Director, Josh, put in a strong challenge for Ben’s top spot, clocking up his miles through a mix of running and walking – and even adding in the occasional open-water swim while away in sunny France.

Michael covers every mile on foot

Michael, our Warehouse Operative, completed all of his miles on foot. He enjoyed long hikes with his sons and even took on multiple walks along the Southwest Coast Path during a recent trip.

Carol racks up miles one stroke at a time

Carol, our Sales Coordinator at OIS, earned all of her miles through swimming. She took part in several events during this time, including travelling to Copenhagen for the TrygFonden Christiansborg Rundt Night Swim.

Amber dances and walks her way to miles

Our Office Manager, Amber, earned her miles through a mix of walks and dance classes with her daughters, finding creative ways to rack up the distance!

Looking back on an incredible effort

We’re sure you’ll agree that Team OIS gave an incredible effort during Miles4Radiotherapy this year, collectively covering an impressive 605.3 miles! From walking and running to cycling and swimming, our team embraced a variety of activities to support Radiotherapy UK’s fundraising efforts.
