The past few months have been an exciting and productive time at Oncology Imaging Systems. From celebrating key company milestones to welcoming new talent into our team, and from forging valuable industry connections at leading events to delivering on our commitment to customers, there’s been plenty happening behind the scenes.
The UKIO Congress
At the beginning of June, OIS Founder Steve Imber and Business Development Director Josh Imber attended the UK Imaging and Oncology Congress 2025 (UKIO) in Liverpool. The three-day event is the UK’s leading multidisciplinary gathering in medical imaging and offered a valuable opportunity to network and discover cutting-edge equipment, services, and technologies shaping the future of the field.

Expanding the team with clinical expertise
We were thrilled to welcome Gillian to the team in June who joined us as our new Clinical Applications Specialist, bringing more than 13 years of clinical experience with her. Gillian has hit the ground running over the past few months, recently visiting a few sites to undertake various training demos with team members.

Josh Imber’s new chapter as our Business Development Director
After twelve years of dedication to OIS, we were proud to announce the promotion of Josh Imber, our new Business Development Director, back in June. Having joined the company in 2013, Josh was promoted to the role of technical support manager in 2023 and plays a pivotal role in helping OIS to achieve its goals and shape the future of the company.

Connecting with the radiotherapy community at IPEM
At the beginning of July, we attended the IPEM Radiotherapy Biennial Meeting in Birmingham. The event offered a valuable platform to explore best practices and discover innovative approaches to addressing clinical challenges in radiotherapy.

A significant milestone in OIS history
July marked a momentous month for OIS as, for the first time in the company’s history, we completed two installation deliveries in a single day. Our team delivered the installations at Waterford Hillman Cancer Centre and a second site in Birmingham, with support from LAP Laser.

Celebrate 26 years of OIS excellence
The end of July marked a significant milestone for OIS when we celebrated the company’s 26th anniversary. Having been founded in 1999, Steve Imber had a clear vision: to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry.
In the run up to the big day, we spoke to Steve who said, “As we approach our 26th birthday, we can reflect on the last year as a year of development, improved efficiencies and market adaptability.
We have taken on some wonderful new people and implemented new practices that have improved the way we work, and we have seen the impact immediately. OIS has become the distributor for RADformation, the market leader in radiotherapy AI and for other applications, and we are very excited about where this will take us in the future.”

Miles4Radiotherapy
As proud sponsors of Radiotherapy UK’s annual virtual challenge, the OIS team have been racking up the miles whilst participating in Miles4Radiotherapy 2025. Our most recent check-in midway through August, Ben Eccles, our Account Manager, was at the top of the leaderboard, having covered 164.94 miles so far.

Looking ahead to the future!
The past few months have been a testament to the dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit that drive OIS forward. From strengthening our team and expanding our capabilities, to marking historic company milestones, we remain committed to delivering innovation and value to our customers.
