As the year draws to a close and Team OIS get ready for the festive break, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what has been a truly outstanding year. From welcoming new team members to completing numerous successful installations, 2025 has been a year of growth, innovation, and meaningful progress at Oncology Imaging Systems.
Building connections and exploring innovations at ESTRO and ASTRO 2025
In May, OIS team members Josh Imber, Ben Eccles and Freddie Burdett travelled to the vibrant city of Vienna to attend this year’s European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology Congress (ESTRO). Hosted at the Messe Wien Exhibition and Congress Center, the four-day event offered an excellent opportunity to meet with OIS customers and valued suppliers, while also getting hands-on experience with Standard Imaging’s new MAX Elite electrometer, an advanced solution we were proud to introduce to our customers in 2025.
At the end of September, OIS team members Josh Imber, Steve Imber, and Gillian Smith attended the 67th Annual ASTRO Meeting at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. The five-day event offered an invaluable opportunity to connect with valued customers, strengthen existing relationships, and build new ones. Our team also explored and gained hands-on experience with the latest innovations from our partners, including the QA BeamChecker™ Pro, ChartCheck Adaptive, and InkRight® Semi-Permanent Tattoos.

CQ Medical’s distributor training event
OIS team members Freddie Burdett, Ben Eccles and Josh Imber attended CQ Medical’s two-day in-person distributor training event in Amsterdam back in April. The sessions focused on CQ Medical’s innovative Symphony Patient Transfer Solutions and included informative presentations, hands-on practice, and product demonstrations featuring the AirDrive Caddie and AirShuttle.
Expanding the OIS team
We’re thrilled to have welcomed four outstanding new members to the OIS team this year:
Freddie Burdett – Joining as our Support and Logistics Assistant, Freddie manages support cases, coordinates routine services and installations, and oversees our internal help desk.
Ben Eccles – Our new Account Manager, Ben brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the team.
Gillian Smith – Joining in June as our Clinical Applications Specialist, Gillian contributes over 13 years of clinical experience.
Leoné Glackin – Leoné joins as an Account Manager, bringing extensive radiotherapy knowledge and experience to support our growing team.

Josh Imber’s new chapter as our Business Development Director
After twelve years of commitment to OIS, we were proud to announce in June the promotion of Josh Imber to Business Development Director. Having joined the company in 2013 and previously promoted to Technical Support Manager in 2023, Josh plays a key role in driving OIS forward and shaping the company’s future.

The first World Radiotherapy Awareness Day
2025 saw the inaugural World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD), a global initiative dedicated to ensuring everyone living with cancer has access to life-saving radiotherapy. This first-ever event saw the theme: “One Voice for Radiotherapy.”
A year of successful installations
In 2025, the OIS Installation Team successfully completed nine laser installations across the UK, including a company milestone: for the first time, we completed two installations in a single day, delivering to both Waterford Hillman Cancer Centre and a site in Birmingham.
