OIS 2023 Recap: A Year of Achievements and Highlights

As we approach the penultimate week of 2023, we’re reflecting on all we have achieved as a company and team at Oncology Imaging Systems throughout the year.

New Board of Directors

A successful start to the year saw Managing Director Jess Fuller and Sales Director Mike Holroyd appointed to the Board of Directors together with company founder Steve Imber, who after 23 years as Managing Director takes on the role of Founding Director and Chairman of the Board.

Warehouse Expansion

Progress continued with our newly expanded warehouse in February; we were delighted to welcome Damon Kirk, Vice President of Global Sales at CQ Medical, to complete the grand opening later in the year.

BIR Annual Radiotherapy and Oncology Event

In March, Team OIS attended the BIR Annual Radiotherapy and Oncology Event in London, where we had the opportunity to showcase a range of radiotherapy solutions.

Training session

OIS is pleased to offer on-site training to our customers and throughout the year have delivered successful training sessions at various locations. Highlights include providing Encompass SRS Fibreplast training at the London Clinic and delivering comprehensive C-Qual M breast board training to over 100 members of the radiographer and engineering teams at the North Ireland Cancer Centre in Belfast.

OIS became the distributor for CQ Medical across the UK and Ireland

A significant milestone for OIS came in May when we completed handover day and became the distributor for CIVCO Radiotherapy and Qfix, now rebranded to CQ Medical.

Team OIS expanded with new members

Two new members have joined the OIS team this year and made valuable contributions as Account Managers, with Holly Graves stepping into her role at the start of the year and Annabel Cresswell joining the team in June.

The company celebrated its 24th birthday

July marked a momentous month for OIS as we celebrated the company’s 24th birthday, a significant moment for OIS Founder Steve Imber. To recognise the occasion, we sat down with Steve to gain and share an insight into the company’s history.

Team OIS’ efforts for Miles4Radiotherapy continued

July to September were busy months outside of work for the team, as we participated in the annual Miles4Radiotherapy fitness challenge. Team OIS covered 376 miles in support of the Action Radiotherapy campaign.

Delta4 User Group Meeting

In September we hosted the Delta4 UK User Group Meeting at Nottingham City Hospital. The event was organised by OIS team members Josh Imber and Holly Graves and provided the oportunity to explore a wide range of critical topics. We learned from our users who spoke about their experiences with Delta4 Phantom+ and its crucial role in their clinics. We delved into the significant role of Delta4 Insight in streamlining and improving treatment workflow with Monte Carlo-based Secondary Dose Calculations. We also had the privilege of showcasing how HexaMotion is at the forefront of motion management patient QA, presenting two compelling success stories from our esteemed customers. It was great to have so many users join us in person and online to share some insights on their Delta4 use.

ASTRO 2023

Founding Director of OIS, Steve Imber, travelled to San Diego in October to attend ASTRO 2023. A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the newly launched CQ Medical, a fresh identity for the merged CIVCO RT and Qfix companies.

UK SABR Annual Consortium Conference

We attended the UK SABR Annual Consortium Conference in November, where Mike and Bella spoke with attendees about our SABR and SBRT solutions.

Saying goodbye to 2023

Following the year's success, the entire team is taking the opportunity to embrace the festive season with a Christmas Party ahead of a well-deserved break.

As we round off the year, we want to thank our valued clients and partners for helping to make this year a success. Here's to 2024!
