A couchtop or panel insert with low electron generation
The DoseMax™ insert for the KVue™ IGRT couchtop or Varian Exact couchtops
|
The DoseMax™ low electron generation couchtop insert combines the rigidity of a solid panel with the skin-
sparing properties of a grid, but without the sag of tennis racket or carbon fibre inserts. It reduces skin dose
by over 35% compared to a typical foam core insert and generates an approximate 2mm shift in the dose
depth curve instead of 7mm. The DoesMax™ achieves 0.2% attenuation at 6MV AP/PA next to 1.0% with a
solid panel insert and 3.0% with a Monocoque Couchtop.

New Beekley Innovation - POINTGUARDS for darker skin
|
A specialist in patient marking and breast biopsy equipment, Beekley Corporation in the US have just
launched a new temporary tattoo cover for darker skin, distributed in the UK by Oncology Imaging Systems.
Tiny tattoo marks are notoriously hard to find on darker skin. This new addition to the POINTGUARD
collection provides radiotherapy departments with a perfect solution to the challenges of darker skin tones.
The bright white circle and crosshair designs draw attention to hard to find tattoos. They allow you to quickly
localise set-up marks for accurate daily reproducibility without highlighting the temporary marks with a strong
smelling marker or paint pen, which can be messy. And you won't have to take out a pocket light to find it.
